Namor is a superhero film released by Marvel Studios in 2015. It is the fifteenth installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the first in a planned duology to feature Namor the Sub-Mariner. It was directed by Jonathan Mostow.
While on an expedition to the Antarctic to find a deposit of Vibranium rumored to be located there, Captain Leonard McKenzie and his associate, famous telepath Paul Destine, are shipwrecked after their use of bombs to break through the Ronne Ice Shelf backfires on them. Their location is close to that of the undersea Kingdom of Atlantis, and a young Atlantean princess, named Fen, was sent to investigate the explosions. Upon meeting Captain McKenzie, the two fall in love, and Princess Fen rescues him, Destine, and his crew, bringing them to Atlantis in secret. Fen and Captain McKenzie grow closer and share a romantic night. However, the following day, a group of Atlantean soldiers, led by the warrior Krang, discover them and slaughter all the humans. In the chaos, Captain McKenzie is seemingly killed, along with the rest of his crew, but Destine manages to escape. The princess is brought before her father, Emperor Tha Korr, who believed that the humans were holding her captive. When Fen tells him that they were harmless, Tha Korr feels guilty, and decides not to punish his daughter, much to the chagrin of Krang. Not long after, Fen learns that she is pregnant with Captain McKenzie's child.
Nineteen years later, the child, named Namor, has since become a Prince of Atlantis.
